Who Are We?

Pozitif Düşün / Who Are We?

Think Positive Initiative

There are many rights violations related to people living with HIV in the northern part of Cyprus. We can list the most basic rights violations as follows; Discriminatory local legal text regarding the workforce and deportation based on HIV status, lack of adequate anonymous testing centres, lack of free access to preventive measures, lack of a prevention policy by local bodies, problems in accessing preventive and therapeutic drugs. Despite all this, we, those living with HIV, celebrate our free existence and are a part of this society with our basic human rights and free existence. These rights violations are fueled by the lack of public awareness and stigma around HIV. As Think Positive team, we aim to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS and ultimately reduce human rights violations of people living with HIV/AIDS. As HIV/AIDS activists who came together in 2020, we are carrying out our efforts in an organised manner under the umbrella of the initiative.
